Musicians, artists, and creatives in Lake Macquarie are in for a treat as the City Council gears up to enhance their professional development through the Live and Local initiative. Scheduled for Saturday, March 15th at Warners Bay Theatre, baramayiba, a series of workshops will focus on refining branding and networking capabilities.
The morning session titled ‘Creatives Guide to Branding’ aims to enlighten participants on the significance of personal and professional branding within the creative sector. Following this, an afternoon workshop will delve into ‘Networking Tips for Creatives’. During the lunch break, attendees will have the opportunity to gain insights into the success story of the Cementa Festival, a biennial cultural event in regional NSW, directly from Co-founder Alex Wisser.
Jacqui Hemsley, the Manager of Arts, Culture, and Tourism at the Council, highlighted that the workshops will be conducted by Creative Plus Business, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering creatives and art organizations with essential business skills. The Live and Local program by Lake Macquarie City Council, in collaboration with the Live Music Office, OneMusic Australia, and APRA AMCOS, aims to spotlight and support local musicians while revitalizing performance spaces and advancing live music regulations and policies in Lake Mac.
