As the King’s Birthday long weekend approaches, Lake Macquarie City Council has announced the operating hours for various facilities and services on Monday, 9th June 2025.
The Administrative Centre and Works Depot will remain closed during the public holiday, while the Landcare and Sustainable Living Centre will also be inaccessible.
However, there will be no disruption to waste, recycling, or green waste collections, with bins being serviced as per the usual schedule. The Awaba Waste Management Facility will maintain its normal trading hours from 8am to 4pm.
For those planning to visit the Lake Mac Swim Centres, please note that they will be closed for the holiday. Similarly, the patrol season for Redhead, Blacksmiths, Caves, and Catherine Hill Bay beaches will have concluded by then.
When it comes to cultural and information services, Lake Mac Libraries, including Belmont, Cardiff, Speers Point, Toronto Library, Wangi Library Creative Hub, and Sugar Valley Library Museum, will be accessible for inducted self-access users from 7am to 7pm. However, the Museum of Art and Culture, Multi-Arts Pavilion, Warners Bay Theatre, and Rathmines Theatre will all be closed.
